Hodad's

In-N-Out might have the burger crown in Los Angeles, but in San Diego, it goes to Hodad's. They are a local burger joint that serves elevated fast food such as burgers, onion rings, and shakes. Though all their food is excellent, the superstar is undoubtedly the burger. These burgers are massive and are packed with flavor. Located at 945 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101.

Herb & Wood

When you read the name of this restaurant, you probably think of some health or vegan restaurant, but it is something much more flavorful. They offer elevated Mediterranean cuisine that takes you on a flavor journey not worth coming back from. Though their entrées are delicious, I recommend getting a bunch of appetizers instead. But if you are feeling a traditional entrée, then their Gnocchi is never a bad choice. Located at 2210 Kettner Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101.

San Diego might not be known for having excellent, expensive restaurants, but if there is one thing they are known for is their delicious desserts. And one of San Diego's most iconic dessert spots is The Baked Bear. They offer a chance for you to personalize one of America's most iconic desserts. So it doesn't matter if you love cookies or brownies, or Cookie Dough ice cream or Cookies and Cream ice cream, or even Nutella or Hot Caramel; it is all for you to customize. Located at 4516 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA 921090.

Coasterra

People think either Los Angeles or Dallas has the best Mexican food in the country, but I say nothing beats Mexican food from San Diego. And one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city has to be Coasterra. They offer everything from a modern ambiance to a fantastic view to incredible food. I always go with the tacos because even though they might seem like a simple choice, they are delicious. Located at 880 Harbor Island Dr, San Diego, CA 92101.

Ironside Fish & Oyster

If you want to try some of the best and most popular seafood in San Diego, then you must go to Ironside Fish & Oyster. They get almost all of their seafood from the wild, so it can't get much fresher. They are most notable for their oyster bar, offering some of the best oysters in California. A San Diego trip would not be complete without a stop at Ironside Fish & Oyster. Located at 1654 India St, San Diego, CA 92101

Juniper & Ivy

Is there a better way to end the night than with some fantastic food? No, I don't think so. This new, modern restaurant has taken San Diego by storm and is now one of their best restaurants. They are known for their tapas, and they are some of the best in the country. If you are very hungry though, they still offer standard dishes. Located at 2228 Kettner Blvd San Diego, CA 92101.

Island Prime

Is there anything better than eating food next to the ocean? Picnic at the beach, snacks in the sea, or even a restaurant near the ocean; it is all amazing. So how about a restaurant this is above the ocean? Well, that wouldn't just be amazing, that would be incredible. And that is exactly what Island Prime offers. This steak house provides some of the best steak and seafood in the city. So, there is no reason why Island Prime shouldn't be on your food list. Located at 880 Harbor Island Dr, San Diego, CA 92101.

The Fish Market

San Diego is notorious for having amazing restaurants near the bay, and The Fish Market is the king of all those restaurants. They are located in a way for you to have a fantastic view of the water. Just imagine indulging in great food while watching the ocean. Their seafood is so fresh that it will make you question where other restaurants get their seafood from. I highly recommend the Fish & Chips and the Crispy Fish Tacos; they are both unreal. Located at 750 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101.

Cafe Coyote

Iconic. Just iconic. Easily one of San Diego's most known restaurants, Cafe Coyote has served authentic Mexican cuisine for over 30 years. Cafe Coyote is so authentic that the atmosphere makes you feel like you are in Mexico. All the colors, paintings, and plants really give it that Mexican vibe. Other than their unique atmosphere, they offer incredible food. I highly recommend the Shrimp Tacos; they are delicious. Located at 2461 San Diego Ave San Diego, CA 92110.
